About Wonky Drake

We build things because “there must be a better way” is usually right.

Wonky Drake Ltd is a UK software and digital studio focused on useful systems, strong execution and technology that serves the business rather than becoming the business.

Our story

We build for our own business first.

Cadarn Slate Crafts is our own live e-commerce and production business. We built its website, then the machinery behind it: the Cadarn Proof Engine, which turns a customer’s photo into a proof they approve and then into controlled engraving-ready output.

Running a real business on our own software keeps us honest. It has to work for real customers, real orders and real production deadlines, not just in a demo.

Our in-house game, FootGolf Rivals World Tour, keeps us comfortable with the technically unusual. Now we build the same joined-up kind of system for other businesses.

Our bias is toward making.

We like clear conversations, prototypes you can touch, and improvements based on what happens in the real world. Some projects need a sharp five-page website. Others need payments, automation, data, admin tooling and custom processing. We are comfortable at both ends.

Practical

The cleverest solution is useless if nobody can operate it.

Direct

We explain what is happening in normal language and keep the technical fog machine switched off.

Iterative

Real use reveals things no planning document can. We build, observe and refine.

Independent

We are happy to question the first idea when a simpler or more useful answer appears.

If you have an idea, a broken process or a system you wish existed, we should probably talk.
